Standards that protect good sellers as well as buyers

OSK is designed for verified businesses and organisations operating in trade. Clear standards reduce low-quality competition and help buyers know they can trust what they see.

Core marketplace standards

Accurate information is part of the product

  • Verified sellers rather than casual private accounts
  • Genuine photographs of the actual item
  • Up to 30 product images where the item needs detailed coverage
  • Accurate condition, flaw and repair disclosure
  • Useful measurements, sizing, weight and parcel information
  • Controlled brands, makers and category requirements
  • No misleading descriptions or hidden off-platform selling links
  • New Zealand consumer-law responsibilities remain with the seller

Condition and photographs

Show buyers what they are actually purchasing

Photographs should show the real item, relevant labels, condition, wear, repairs, missing parts and any detail a reasonable buyer would need. Images must not disguise damage or substitute a generic catalogue image for the actual product.

Measurements and sizing

A size label is not enough

Clothing, furniture, collectables and many other categories require measurements or dimensions. Required fields are triggered by category and zero is not accepted as a substitute for information that should be measured.

Safety and prohibited products

Some stock needs additional care or cannot be listed

Electrical products, restricted goods, counterfeit items, stolen goods and unsafe products require specific controls. OSK may refuse or remove products that do not meet legal, safety or marketplace requirements.

Good standards make the marketplace stronger

These requirements are intended to support accurate professional selling, not to create unnecessary paperwork.
